Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a healing art whose roots are founded in Osteopathy. Dr William Garner Sutherland developed Osteopathy in the Cranial Field in 1929 and went on to dedicate the next 30 years to researching his theories.

Craniosacral therapy is not a manipulative therapy, it is an extremely gentle hands on treatment aimed at restoring health and balance to the body's systems, relieving pain and dysfunction and improving whole-body health and performance.

Craniosacral therapy supports nervous system regulation and allows the resolution of conditions resulting from these stresses and traumas in the emotional and physical body by releasing membranous strains and restrictions in the bones, soft tissues, joints and organs as well as the deeper connective tissues of the body the fascia, connective tissues and the fluids.

Sessions are resourcing - both the body and mind feel extremely rested after a session.

Craniosacral therapy is commonly requested for the following conditions:
  • Headache and migraine
  • Tinnitus and vertigo
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Congestion and oedema
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Post-concussion symptoms
  • Infantile disorders such as latching, feeding, colic
